The play tells the story of a young couple, Cathy (played by Carol White) and Reg (Ray Brooks). Initially their relationship flourishes and they have a child and move into a modern home. When Reg is injured and loses his job, they are evicted by bailiffs, and they face a life of poverty and unemployment, illegally squatting in empty houses and staying in shelters. Finally, Cathy has her children taken away by social services…
Cette chronique d'un drame annoncé raconte l'histoire de Cathy et Reg, celui qu'elle épouse et qui devient le père de ses trois enfants. Tout démarre bien pour eux : un appartement refait à neuf, deux salaires, la passion amoureuse… quand Reg perd soudain son emploi suite à un accident. Commence alors le cycle infernal des évictions : de taudis en caravanes, des tentes aux foyers réservés aux femmes et enfants, la petite famille va vivre d'expédients et finir par se séparer.
