Wasted is a four-part series that looks at the impacts of drug use on individuals, families and society. Each details the stories of young people who are either currently dependent on drugs or who have a history of drug taking.

Some Details

This recently shown documentary Mini-series was really good viewing and I don't see it has been capped by anyone, anywhere, online. It is due to this that I resorted to capturing the WMV stream from channel4 OnDemand service and removed the DRM giving actually pretty good watchable files. (I wouldn't offer them if they were too bad believe me!).

PROGRAMME 1: COCAINE
Wasted: A 4-part series [Drugs and The Effects on Families, Young People] - WEBRiP

This programme features two families - firstly, Emily, aged 15, from rural Wales, and her mother Kath; secondly, Georgie, aged 25, who attended a private school in West London, her mother Karen and sister Harriet. Emily started using alcohol and cannabis at 12 and had progressed to cocaine by 14. Georgie was offered cocaine in a club at the age of 15. Both young women cite peer pressure as one of the key factors in becoming drug users. Both are now free of drugs.

PROGRAMME 2: HEROIN
Wasted: A 4-part series [Drugs and The Effects on Families, Young People] - WEBRiP

The two people in this programme came to be addicted to heroin in quite different ways, and by the end of the film find themselves in quite different places. April, aged 20, is pregnant, a former heroin addict and now dependant on methadone. She and her mother Sherrie talk about their experiences of April's drug use. By the end of the programme, they face a much more positive future.
Ian, aged 19, was orphaned at 5 and then went into care. He began using drugs at a very early age, and is now addicted to heroin, crack and methadone. Ian lives in a hostel and appears to have no family, friends or support. By the end of the film, his future looks bleak.

PROGRAMME 3: CANNABIS
Wasted: A 4-part series [Drugs and The Effects on Families, Young People] - WEBRiP

This programme follows a day in the lives of Harry, his father Paul and younger sister Lottie. Harry works in the family business, but smokes cannabis on a daily basis and is often unwilling to join his father at work. All three talk frankly about Harry's cannabis use, which is increasingly problematic for his family, though not, it appears, for Harry himself. While he does recognise that he is prone to mood swings and violent outbursts, Harry blames this largely on his father and, by the end of the programme, seems no closer to taking responsibility for his behaviour.

PROGRAMME 4: MUM AND DAD
Wasted: A 4-part series [Drugs and The Effects on Families, Young People] - WEBRiP

This final programme looks at drug misuse from a different point of view the children. Kim, a single mother and heroin and crack user, has seen her daughter Serena taken into the care of her sister. Pat, a grandmother, now cares for Daniel and Kyle, following the death of their father from an overdose. The boys' mother - Pat's daughter - neglected and abused them due to drug addiction.
We also follow Kim as she tries to give up drugs for the sake of her daughter, and hear from Daniel and Kyle about their life with drug-using parents. The consequences of parental drug addiction for everyone involved are all too painfully depicted.

Ripping this from the net was the only way to get it for me…hence the WMV files.
I just felt it was too interesting to leave and no one seems to have released it anywhere.
It is most definitely watchable quality but isn't exactly HD
:-)
