While not featuring the talents of every single member of The League Of Gentlemen, this show is very much in the vein of their fantastic, darkly humorous, most well-known creation.
It tells the story of a group of, apparently unconnected, characters who each receive a letter containing the words "I know what you did". Each person involved has a secret and as the series progresses we get to find out more about everyone involved and just how they actually have crossed paths before.
And what a selection of characters we have. The eccentric, blind dealer of rare commodities, Oscar Lomax (Steve Pemberton). The mother and son (Reece Shearsmith and Steve Pemberton, respectively) who know far too much about serial killers and famous murderers. The nurse (Dawn French) who keeps looking after a doll in lieu of the child she doesn't have. The lovelorn dwarf who may have psychic powers (Jason Tompkins). Lasy, but by no means least, we have the bitter children's entertainer who now has only one hand (Reece Shearsmith, stealing scenes in a the way he so often did when he appeared as Papa Lazarou in "The League Of Gentlemen").
Loaded with film references (with extra praise due to episode four of the first season, a fantastic homage to Rope), dark tics and one-liners that may not seem funny out of context but are damned hilarious within the show, this one is a winner for those who enjoy their laughs mixed in with some pitch black moments.IMDB Reviewer
