At the beginning of the film, in the year 1999, the main character Yong-ho wanders to a reunion of his old student group. After causing some general mayhem with his deranged antics, he leaves and climbs atop a nearby train track. Facing an oncoming train, he exclaims "I want to go back again!". What follows is a series of prior events in the main character's life that show how he became the suicidal man portrayed in this scene.
Une bande d'amis se retrouvent par un bel aprés-midi d'automne. Pour célébrer leurs retrouvailles, ils se réunissent autour d'un pisque-nique et se remémorent leur passé. Surgit alors un invité inattendu, Yongho, oublié de tous. L'homme paraît agité et incontrôlable. Il se lance sur des rails et reste immobile, sous les regards médusés de ses anciens amis. A l'arrivée du train, sa vie défile soudain dans son esprit. Ces flash-backs incessants permettent de comprendre les raisons qui l'incitent à agir de la sorte…
