A once famous and now a washed-up Hollywood screenwriter fighting to finish his latest script with an unrealistic deadline. He finds himself in the center of a murder investigation involving a prominent politician's wife. The surrounding events feed him inspiration for his script.German
Drehbuchautor Aleister hat schon bessere Zeiten erlebt, damals, als ihm die Hollywood-Blockbuster nur so aus den Fingern flossen. Nun hockt er im verwanzten Appartement und kampft mit dem Abgabedruck fur sein neustes Werk, seine offiziell letzte Chance. Da passt es zunachst einmal gar nicht, dass ihn die Polizei des Mordes an einer Frau verdachtigt, die er gar nicht einmal kannte. Aleister forscht nach, wahnt sich bald auf den Spuren einer politischen Verschworung, und gewinnt der Angelegenheit noch Inspiration fur seine Arbeit ab.
Film noir, Satanismuszitate und Mystery verbinden sich zu einer stilistisch nicht jederzeit sicheren und inhaltlich mitunter etwas verwirrenden Mischung aus Arthouse- und Genrefilm in diesem fur solche Verhaltnisse recht prominent besetzten Low-Budget-Thriller und Debutwerk eines Schweizer Filmemachers in Hollywood. Keine geringeren als “Lethal Weapon”-Cop Danny Glover, Michael “Henry” Rooker, Billy Zane und der greise Martin Landau leisten Hauptdarsteller Robert Miano Gesellschaft bei der doppelbodigen Reise durch die Nacht.
