Marie, 40, wakes up one morning believing she's 30. She's forgotten 10 years of her life. She wakes up at the beginning of a romance, which is in fact ending. She wakes up and has 4 days to make the man of her life fall in love with her again.

Some say that it’s not the destination that matters the most, but rather the journey itself. I’d say it’s a little bit of both. You need the journey for the experience and for the fact that it helps you appreciate the destination, but you also need to reach where you’re going for the journey to matter. Another Woman’s Life (La Vie D’Une Autre) by Sylvie Testud deals with the question in a very inventive way that is worth discussing.
Marie wakes up confused, experiencing a sweet hangover after the best birthday of her life — after finally getting together with Paul. The heavy-head feeling doesn’t stop her from being very happy, deeply in love and eager to start her day. However, soon after she gets up, she starts realising that nothing Another Woman's Life (La Vie D'Une Autre)around her is familiar. In fact, everything is strange and she has no recollection of anything as she wanders around the house discovering all sorts of things — a picture of her wedding day with Paul, another one of them holding their newborn baby, her beautiful apartment, her kid, maid, money, clothes and perhaps everything she ever wished for.
And this is not a dream, it’s the real thing. Marie is experiencing a fifteen-year gap in her memory and she has woken up to find herself forty years old, married to Paul, with a seven-year-old kid and with a highly paid job as the vice president of the Speranski multi-million business. Everything might seem perfect, but Marie is definitely not living the dream. She and Paul are in the middle of a painful divorce, her kid is being raised by the nanny and as for her business profile, she iAnother Woman's Life (La Vie D'Une Autre)s known among her colleagues for being bold and tough; the definition of a cold woman. So what went wrong? What was the turning point in her life? How did she find herself here?…
Juliette Binoche was chosen for the lead role alongside Mathieu Kassovitz, and the two talented actors perfectly portray the ‘happy’ couple in Another Woman’s Life. Claire Lemaréchal and Sylvie Testud adapt Frederique Deghelt’s novel and successfully get a simple message across, by telling a bit of an extreme story. The fifteen-year memory gap might not be realistic, but having lost that one turning point, certainly is. Another Woman’s Life is a film about not remembering how you ended up here, about examining all your mistakes in between, and about shedding light onto who you were and who you are.
Another Woman's Life (La Vie D'Une Autre)Because how many of us managed to become who they dreamed of becoming? And what sacrifices were made in the process? Most importantly, if we were to be given a second chance, would we really do it all over again, exactly the same? Another Woman’s Life (La Vie D’Une Autre) gives its audience the opportunity to reflect, regret, start all over again. If you’re not in the mood for a radical change, then watch it because it will make you laugh and offer you the chance to enjoy views over the most beautiful city in the world, Paris.
I wasn't ready to post a review but when I realized that the film is only rated with 5.8 I felt like I had to. This film is not another masterpiece-as I hoped when I saw that both Binoche and Kassovitz are in the cast. However, its simplicity is what manages to raise it on a different level. The plot is fairly simple allowing the characters to effortlessly unfold, especially Binoche manages to convey the conflicted emotions of a woman lost between her past aspirations and the way that her life has evolved, confusing and failing her. Most of all the film is another story about ambition and routine taking us away from all that's meaningful in life, from all the little things that matter. No one has the opportunity to retrospect his/her life while living it. This is what this film is all about, and it is nicely done.IMDB Reviewer,
