A melancholic and nostalgic, yet wistfully optimistic, film. Few years after Paris manifestations of May '68, different characters -a collection of colorful individuals (an unorthodox high school teacher, a couple of organic vegetable farmers, a laid-off type-setter, a disillusioned journalist, an eccentric cashier with a compassionate bent, and a redhead captivated by tantric sex)- share their frustrations, their ruminations and their fantasies, and negotiate their existences in different ways, with different philosophies.
Tanner captures the changing political and socio-economic climate in Europe in the mid-1970's, in a nice movie about freedom and hope for a better system, a better life.
