    Luigi Comencini delivers an Italian answer to the international spy films that were sweeping cinemas globally in the sixties. Nino Manfredi is Natalino Tartufato, a man with a past as freedom fighter against the Nazis during the second world war, and who is now enrolled in the Italian Secret Service, and hot in pursuit of a neo-Nazi group. That aside, the film is firmly rooted in the commedia all'Italiana of its time, and although the plot is not short of eccentric characters, secret suitcases, rooftop stakeouts and red herrings, an all out action-epic a la James Bond is not what is on the menu.
