Mirko, un criminale romano che a 39 anni si rende conto di avere davanti a sé un “futuro da riempire”, per sé e per la sua famiglia, possibilmente in modo onesto, improvvisamente viene eletto a sua insaputa Presidente del comitato di quartiere col 77% dei voti. La vita per Mirko cambia, radicalmente. In modo irrazionale insegue il sogno di un'altra esistenza per sé e per la sua borgata: basta spaccio, basta violenza, basta indifferenza, ora c’è bisogno di creare una comunità unita sul principio dell’aiuto reciproco. Bisogna far funzionare la mensa per i poveri e costruire un orto dove far lavorare ex-detenuti come lui. Questo è il suo sogno. Un sogno però difficile da gestire. Soprattutto se tuo padre è un criminale dai sogni megalomani e se in famiglia cerchi d’importi come padre delle tue due figlie da sempre ignorate. E il tuo passato rimane sempre lì. Una porta facile, facilissima da riaprire.
