Hush Little Baby is a road movie about four girls who cross Denmark in search of a future. All they really wanted was to pick up some smokes but one thing leads to another and they soon find themselves heading west in a stolen Volvo. For some of the girls there's an old score to settle. For others, the trip is about a new sense of freedom. What the four girls have in common is that they're all trying to kick a drug habit. But maybe an abused substance abuser can't be cured through therapy and methadone but through confrontation and forgiveness instead.
This Danish-language thriller from director Hella Joof follows four adolescent girls of different temperaments and origins who all reside in a rehabilitation center. During a field trip, they impulsively escape and hit the road, but the flight has unexpected consequences by forcing each individual to look inside of herself, reexamine her own victim status, and take responsibility for her life. Events then take a dark and sinister turn when long-buried skeletons emerge from the past of one of the participants.
