In 'The Philadelphia Experiment', a secret government research project tries reviving the World War II "Philadelphia Experiment," which was an attempt to create a cloaking device to render warships invisible. When the experiment succeeds, it brings back the original ship (the Eldridge) that disappeared during the first test in 1943 - which brings death and destruction to the 21st century. It's up to the sole survivor (Lea) of the first experiment and his granddaughter (Ullerup) to stop it.

The idea of a sequel to the original story is kind of neat. The problem is that it is very confusing. I get the idea of one guy (I won't say who) surviving the original incident. And I get the idea that there are people stupid and arrogant enough to want to try again. And I even get the idea that the person who started it all could still be alive and in hiding.
So here are the issues. 1. One of the guys who revives it actually understands after achieving what appears to be success (momentarily) is not just a failure but a warning that essentially, Pandora's box has been reopened. A complete change of heart? Even more confusing is that the person he sees as his coworker, maybe boss, is obsessed with continuing on and on after it is clearly too dangerous. And when she finally realizes that, she tries to blow it to oblivion despite being warned that will backfire. Which it does - badly. And once she realizes that, she insists on killing everyone who can help - thinking she can stop what is happening but hold on to the research. We never understand why she is so obsessed or why so many are willing to die for her.
Having said all that, I loved the ending. I won't give it away, but I thought it was nice. Not that you could truly understand how some of that happened. Oh, and I enjoyed the 2 most central characters, the 'survivor' and the young lady he encounters.
The writing is sloppy, the effects cheesy, but it is fairly good entertainment and as good an end to the story as any I could think of.IMDB Reviewer
