DOSSIER K. is the long anticipated successor to 'The Alzheimer Case' which won numerous awards and was sold to over 30 countries, among which the US (where it was released through Sony Picture Classics). This second film based on a novel by Jef Geeraerts is a dense European thriller about passion, betrayal, revenge, blind ambition and the inevitability of fate. Set against the realistic background of Albanian mafia in Antwerp, the story brings the main characters Erik Vincke and Freddy Verstuyft into a disastrous vortex from which no one seems to escape.

"Dossier K" (e.g. "File K.") is an excellent who-done-it-movie. A thriller of the highest level with interesting story lines. Of course, like a good Belgian thriller should be, the highest politicians are involved in the scams. Throughout the movie I was wondering why this movie was named "Dossier K." but th answer will be given along the way. The movie shows exactly the atmosphere there is in these no-go areas in a large harbor city like Antwerp. Though the love scene between Linda and Eric could have been deleted, because it does not add up to the story. Mr. Erik van Looy wanted to direct this movie. His participation in any movie is almost a guarantee for success. But I think mr. Jan Verheyen is a very good replacement!IMDB Reviewer
