    Offbeat comedy from Lumet, with Segal taking the lead as one of four aging Jewish intellectuals en route to the funeral of mutual friend Braverman. A road movie of sorts, it's one of Lumet's less known efforts, but it's easy to see the influence it had on such films as The Big Chill, and although at times it's too talky for its own good, it boasts solid performances from Segal and Browne. The sub-plots, in which the quartet find themselves having to cope with the changing world in varying ways, tend to complicate matters, but it makes an interesting oddity nonetheless.
