    Been a fan of Burn Notice from the beginning I thought this movie was just an other ripoff of my favorite show. Never been so wrong. This movie is so hilarious and exciting from the first seconds right to the last frame. It's been so long that I have laughed so much watching the whole thing through. Now I know what lies behind Sam Axe, and as someone pointed, it would be nice to see the beginning of Michael Westen's story (he made a cameo role here) as well. I think this is one the the best movies I've seen in years. Nothing deep and meaningful, just pure fun without the serious over exaggerated exploding action. Comedy? Yes! Entertaining? Absolutely! Full of action? Rright on! Compared to any other action/comedy movie: A Winner! I think The Fall Of Sam Axe is one of the most recommendable movie for anyone who likes a good old-school action comedy.

    A TV movie special of the hit TV show Burn Notice develops the back story of one of the secondary characters.

    Partly as a result of the success of the TV show but feeling more like an opportunity to enjoy the popularity of Bruce Campbell this one TV movie threatens to go both ways.

    On the one hand we have a strong, tried and tested formula from the TV show and one of the most charismatic stars of the last three decades. On the other we have a very standard plotline that relies heavily on the aforesaid mentioned charm. Possessing very little in the way of creativity, the story is pretty bland and annoying linear. One we have already seen Bruce work through before as he leads a rag-tag group against insurmountable odds, fighting a dastardly army.

    The light and fresh approach taken by director Donovan, the star of the TV show this movie is a prequel to, is thankfully above the average TV production level. Campbell and Donovan obviously work well together and the beautiful Colombian landscapes fill the screen with rich colour in every frame. The production levels are thankfully quite high, quite often on this type of production we would see corners cut to stretch and already overstretched budget, Donovan masterfully avoids showing anything substandard. Well, some CGI helicopters don't look as bad as they could have.

    Chances are if you are reading this then you are a fan of Burn Notice or Bruce Campbell. Burn Notice itself isn't an influence on the goings on as it merely contains one character (also a cameo and a direct reference to another) from the show.

    Bruce Campbell is looking well, the years have been kind to The Chin and as cocky and smart as he has gotten recently there is no denying the guys cool factor. For the fans he manages to get in a few quips, a couple of forth-wall-breaking looks to camera and even a little chainsaw action. I have been and always will be a fan of Bruce and the more things he's in, the better the world we live in is.
