How much are you willing to sacrifice to be the most beautiful person in the world? Severe skin depigmentation, death due to septicemia and cancer are the prices to pay, as it is the case in Senegal apparently. In Senegal, the standard for beauty among women is a lighter skin tone. The lighter you are, the more appealing you become especially to the opposite sex. These bleaching products are produced in the U.S and Europe and then exported to Africa with Glutathione being one of the most notorious. This documentary explores the plight of Senegalese women and the societal views on bleaching. Is it worth it?
