In the second programme of the series, Simon and Kate explore why wind is such a lethal factor in the spread of wildfires, and uncover the causes of the biggest and most extreme fires, meeting leading scientists working to unlock the secrets of wildfire behaviour. Simon joins a spectacular aerial operation as the team waterbomb a new wildfire spreading dangerously fast in a remote national park. And Kate experiences first-hand what it's like to be inside a firefighting truck as the flames approach.
