There is a big surprise in store for special guest Si King from the Hairy Bikers in this episode, as he is presented with his late father's medal for his wartime service on the perilous Arctic convoys. Andy meets the last survivor of the midget submarine crew who assisted in crippling German battleship the Tirpitz, and two veterans from the Arctic convoys are reunited seventy years after serving together. There is a tribute to the military search and rescue helicopter teams from a Cornish resident who was rescued during the Boscastle floods. And there is a moving performance from the choir of the Duke of York's Royal Military School in Dover.

Former 'Spitfire Girl' Joy Lofthouse reminisces about her service delivering fighter planes to the frontline and flies a Tiger Moth at the age of 92. Veterans read the inspirational words of Churchill's wartime speeches and Andy meets a woman who worked in a Battle of Britain operations room.

    Part 3: Courage and Sacrifice
EastEnders actress June Brown shares her wartime memories, from being an evacuee to seeing Coventry go up in flames after German raids. We hear from a man whose life was saved by an act of great courage from his sister who sheltered him from a bomb attack on a London school. Presenter Andy Torbet explores some of the exhibits at the Imperial War Museum at Duxford in Cambridgeshire, including General Montgomery's office in a caravan. There is also the moving story of an Indian soldier who saved the life of his British commanding officer and a stirring performance of a wartime classic by the world's only one-handed concert pianist Nicholas McCarthy.

    Part 4: Forgotten Heroes
Former Dragons' Den businessman Duncan Bannatyne views rare documents which shed light on his father's experiences as a prisoner of war in the Far East. Presenters Sophie Raworth and Andy Torbet are also joined by a veteran who endured years of forced labour in the same prison camps as Duncan's dad. An Afghanistan veteran explains why he is determined to walk again after losing his legs in a Taliban attack and a Bomber Command veteran climbs back into a Lancaster for the first time since the Second World War. There is also a stirring performance from the pipes and drums of the Gurkhas as they celebrate 200 years of service to the crown.

    Part 5: The Fallen
As Remembrance Sunday approaches, Sophie Raworth and former army officer Andy Torbet are joined by broadcaster Angela Rippon to remember the fallen. Angela reveals that she didn't meet her dad properly until she was three years old because he was serving abroad as a royal marine. Soldier Gary Prout recalls the incredible act of bravery in Afghanistan which led to him being awarded with the Conspicuous Gallantry Cross. A family mourning the loss of their son in Afghanistan attend the unveiling of a memorial to honour all those servicemen and women who lost their lives.
