Il diciassettenne Ed Wallis (Nat Wolff) sta cercando di capire quale sia il proprio posto nel mondo quando forma una strana amicizia con il vicino di casa Ashby Holt (Mickey Rourke), a cui si rivolge in cerca di aiuto.
