Michele thinks she's being watched. Für die Freundinnen Jane (Pamela Franklin) und Cathy (Michele Dotrice) sollte der Urlaub mit dem Fahrrad durch Nordfrankreich etwas ganz Besonderes werden. Doch nach einem heftigen Streit trennen sich ihre Wege. Eine folgenschwere Entscheidung, denn Cathy wird bald darauf entführt und ist wie vom Erdboden verschluckt. Auf der Suche nach ihr bekommt Jane Unterstützung von Paul (Sandor Elès), der sich schon länger mit einem ungeklärten Sexualmord in der Umgebung beschäftigt. Doch kann Jane dem geheimnisvollen Fremden überhaupt trauen?
