    Robinson Crusoe by Defoe, Daniel

    Robinson Crusoe by Defoe, Daniel
    Penguin Classict | ISBN | 1719 | PDF | 1,2 MB | 248 Pages

This book was written in 1719 and it was inspired by a true story of a man (Alexander Selkirk) who was rescued after having spent 3 years on a Pacific Island in 1709. The book is written in the first person as a diary of the life of Robinson Crusoe. The language and phrasing can be a little odd at times because it is a very old book but I do not think it is too difficult to understand. It was the fist "shipwreck and rescue" type of book and many others were written later on the same theme.

Buddhism is one of the three major world religions, along with Christianity and Islam, and has a history that is several centuries longer than either of its counterparts. Starting in India some twenty-five hundred years ago, Buddhist monks and nuns almost immediately from the inception of the dispensation began to “to wander forth for the welfare and weal of the many, out of compassion for the world,” commencing one of the greatest missionary movements in world religious history.

    Salman Rushdie «The Satanic Verses»
    Publisher: Picador; 1st Picador USA Ed edition | ISBN:0312270828 | December 1, 2000 | PDF | 576 pages | 2,8 mb

Salman Rushdie's The Satanic Verses is probably destined to be one of the leastread best-sellers of all time. Its main claim to fame is the violent exception that Muslims of the yahoo variety have taken to seventy of its 547 pages. In a thinly disguised parody of the life of the Prophet Mohammed, Mr. Rushdie implies what many critics have long suspected: that the Prophet's message was a little too worldly, and too subject to opportunistic policy adjustments, to have been divinely inspired. The mere suggestion has enraged some of the faithful, and led to book-burnings in England, bloody attacks on U.S. information centers overseas, and the Ayatollah Khomeini's generous offer of $1 million to whatever godly gunsel manages to rub out Mr. Rushdie

    George Orwell - Animal Farm

    George Orwell, «Animal Farm»
    Signet Book | ISBN 0451734934 | July 1984 | PDF | 123 Pages | 1mb

Power corrupts, but absolute power corrupts absolutely-and this is vividly and eloquently proved in Orwell's short novel. "Animal Farm" is a simple fable of great symbolic value, and as Orwell himself explained: "it is the history of a revolution that went wrong". The novel can be seen as the historical analysis of the causes of the failure of communism, or as a mere fairy-tale; in any case it tells a good story that aims to prove that human nature and diversity prevent people from being equal and happy ,or at least equally happy.
