"Bubblin'" is the moniker of Dutch swing guitarist / vocalist Dirkjan Toorop, who infuses this CD of Classic-jazz covers with his spontaneity and good-humored fun. His trio includes Wilco Jordi on violin and accordionist Jean-Pierre Guiran, who also plays in the musette and Gypsy swing band Orkest Polytour. This CD is a finger-snapping good time. The band plays rollicking versions of standards such as "I got Rhythm," "Body and Soul," "Round Midnight,""In a Sentimental Mood," and more, injecting them with energy and spontaneous fun.

Starting with "I Got Rhythm" and the title piece, "Laughin' in Rythm" and followed by "All of Me" and "The Sheik of Araby", we are treated to sweet and gutsy swing. "God Bless the Child" gets a gypsy twist and so does Monk's "Round Midnight" in a delightful manner. Everyone's enjoying making these cuts.
