You Tell Me is the extracurricular project of Field Music's Peter Brewis and Admiral Fallow's Sarah Hayes. The duo combined their backgrounds of the orchestral indie pop of Hayes' band and the progressive pop of Field Music after meeting at a Kate Bush celebration concert. On hearing Hayes' take on Bush's "This Woman's Work" Brewis was taken with her voice and they subsequently discovered a mutual love of artists like Rufus Wainwright, Tortoise, Randy Newman, and The Blue Nile. This musical meeting of minds led the duo to start recording at Field Music HQ on an industrial estate in Sunderland, and it would be the last record made there before being demolished. Their debut single, "Clarion Call," was released on 7" vinyl by Field Music's label Memphis Industries in 2018. The 7" singles all had unique covers with the combined pieces making up a larger artwork designed by Brewis himself. The duo put out a further single, "Invisible Ink," before their debut self-titled album appeared in 2019. ~ Bekki Bemrose
