All members of of Obscured By Pink are influenced by Pink Floyd. The band plays the music in it’s purist form; not like some of the band’s that fake it electronically. Hence the name Obscured By Pink. The band captures the essence of Pink Floyd’s finest moments. They focus on what made Pink Floyd into the band it became both before and after their commercial success. Also, the music created by Floyd during these days has become timeless. It can be enjoyed by all people of varying age groups, not just those entrenched in the period of the bands’ commercial period. Obscured By Pink was chosen as the name for the band to show the public that they weren’t really a copy-group. The band changes things (as Floyd did in the early days). This band is not a mechanical representation of one of the greatest bands in history. The band stands on it’s own and prefers it that way. They aren’t lost on The Dark Side of the Moon in never-never land repeating phrases note-for-note. You can find that anywhere and you don’t have to look very far to locate it. So, if you want the real deal then you should experience an Obscured By Pink show!
The album "Confessions" was inspired through life experience and thoughts about the present state of our society in general. Every song in this work has a story. Some tales are openly expressed in the lyrics and and others are hidden and can be only revealed to ourselves individually. The focus of this work is to inspire one to think about where we have been along our life's journey and where we are headed. It is to urge the listener to question his or her values and contemplate the future we would like to see. "Experience is the best teacher" has been said many times in numerous cultures to be the source of wisdom. In compiling this work it was our intent to put that experience to music and song. This is evident in titles contained such as "Reflections" and "Decision." Other tunes such as "American Dream" and "End of Days" it is to add a warning that we could be misguided as we progress into an unknown future. However, you view your ride into this vast unknown this work should provoke some interesting personal thoughts and provide for constructive dialogue on how we all got here and where we are going!
