"The time for lone wolves is over," is the opening line, which for Nick Mulvey's Mercury Prize-nominated new single "Star Nation," is an immediate call to personal and environmental action, and a glimpse into the transformative journey Nick has taken in the five years since his critically acclaimed sophomore album "Wake Up Now."

The song sets the stage for Mulvey's new, third album, "New Mythology," which is all about being in-between; a collection of songs that meets that moment in time head-on and showcases Mulvey's extraordinary talent for putting complex, philosophical ideas into songs. On his new album, humanity and the natural world are interwoven, showing the vulnerability of the everyday human experience; in this case, becoming a father and coping with the pandemic, but also his journey to grasp the scope and scale of his feelings. "Star Nation" and "Begin Again" - both released during the pandemic - sow the seeds of this interconnected space

However, to get to this album, the acclaimed artist and songwriter has come a long way - both on the level of experience and philosophy. in 2014 he released the Mercury Prize-nominated debut album "First Mind" and in 2017 the acclaimed "Wake Up Now," as well as a series of EPs. He has become known for his modern take on folk and has been described as a nomadic troubadour whose influences come from the changing landscapes around him

"New Mythology" was recorded sporadically during the pandemic with renowned producer Renaud Letang. On it, Nick also thanks his friends and family, past and present teachers, who helped him get to this point - now Mulvey is on the cusp of change and ready to share his message with the world.
