Dana Dragomir - the world's first professional performer on the pan-flute. She began studying music at age 6 at the Music Academy 'Liceul George Enescu "in Bucharest where she graduated 12 years later. After eight years in the piano class changed Dana Dragomir instruments for panpipes. She was 16 when she was discovered and became internationally known pretty quickly.
At age 21, she was discovered by a Romanian-American manager and was offered a three-year contract in Las Vegas, which she accepted. In a dictatorship, Romania was withdrawn, however, her Romanian exit visa the day before the trip to the USA - the secret police Securitate would give the go-ahead only if she was spying on fellow countrymen abroad, including his manager. She agreed to leave the country. After half a year in the US, she realized that the manager's promise to make her a big star was not true and that he did not fulfill the contract. A year later she ran away from him and with the help of a childhood friend she ended up in Sweden in 1986. A few months later she was discovered by Radio Boras and TV programs Gomorron Sweden and Hello Scandinavia. Her big break came four years later with the theme song to the film Mio my Mio composed by Björn Ulvaeus and Benny Andersson. Since the dictatorship in Romania, had fallen Dragomir could return and see his parents. In recent years, she has also given concerts and interviews.
