The concerti by the violinist and composer Francesco Venturini (ca. 1675-1745) are a real discovery - melodious, virtuoso, elegant and dance-like, they combine Italian and French stylistic elements to a "mixed taste", as Telemann called this "Mélange". Inspired by the culturally and intellectually pulsating sphere of the Hanoverian Court, Venturini created sophisticated and playful music in his orchestral works, which is determined by numerous concert moments for wind players and strings.
His works are arranged with great and sometimes unusual richness of color: as concertante solo instruments he combines not only one or two oboes, recorders and violins, but also, for example, two bassoons and two cellos or oboe, two recorders and violin - the latter a compilation that almost reminds of the Brandenburg concertos by Bach, which were composed a few years later.

The release marks the beginning of the collaboration between audite and la festa musicale. Here, the ensemble presents a representative cross-section of Venturini's instrumental music: three orchestral suites from Opus 1, already published in print during his lifetime, as well as two finds from Swedish music collections; three works are presented as first recordings (Op. 1 No. 2, Ouverture à 5, Concerto à 6).
The North German Baroque ensemble la festa musicale stands for first-class artistic level, which is reflected in creative, interdisciplinary concert formats and top-class collaborations. The interpretations intensify the richness of colors of the works by instrumentation variations beyond the original score, as they were common practice in the Baroque period, and also by additional effects such as the use of percussion instruments. Two further audite productions with la festa musicale are already planned.
