ATMA Classique is pleased to present Femmes de légende, the solo debut album by pianist Élisabeth Pion, featuring works by three giants of the 20th century, Debussy, Dutilleux, and Boulanger, along with “Femmes de légende” by late-Romantic composer Mel (Mélanie) Bonis, and the “Berceuse” from opera The Exterminating Angel by Thomas Adès.

“To me, releasing this recording is in a way giving birth to my artistic vision. I hope that you will joyfully rediscover works you already know, and that you will have the pleasure of getting acquainted with music that has simply been patiently waiting to cross the threshold of your auditory canal in order to be appreciated! This album is representative of my interests and natural inclinations, and I have for a long time been feeling a strong affinity with French repertoire. My recent encounter with Thomas Adès has inspired me to allow myself a little misdemeanour regarding this French exclusivity.”
