VIETNAM BLUES collects Lenoir's last two albums (before his untimely death in 1967), 1965's ALABAMA BLUES and 1966's DOWN IN MISSISSIPPI, both of which were produced under the supervision of blues icon Willie Dixon.

This is an incredible album full of a solid sound coming out from many music styles. Pure electric blues together with a funky rock feel. Folk acoustic guitars against sweet atmospheric “delay” electric guitars. Soulful blues vocals harmonized together with gospel group vocals. The first time for the Blues Trackers releasing an album consisted only from their own music. After ten years with this line up the band made this album as a turning point to their musical journey.

Grizzled bluesman Steven Gene Wold's rags-to-riches life story will surely one day end up being adapted for one of those life-affirming musical biopics that so often sweep the boards come awards season. The man now known best as Seasick Steve left home to escape from his abusive stepfather as a young teen, lived as a hobo across Tennessee and Mississippi for the better part of nearly two decades, and was on the fringes of the same scene as Janis Joplin and Joni Mitchell while performing as a session musician in the '60s, before eventually receiving an unlikely commercial breakthrough at the grand old age of 65. It's this eventful back-story that makes the 21 primitive blues offerings on Walkin' Man: The Best of Seasick Steve, his first full-length compilation, so compelling.

I call it "American vibes melt into traditional shrimp-rock-blues". Most of the songs were written down in Florida where my parents live part-time. That’s why I call it shrimp-rock blues. The last couple of years I really dig the old traditional delta blues from the 30’s and some of the basic elements of the songs were further developed out of simple bluesy dobro slide ideas. It took a long time to finish the new album & we really tried to capture the most natural sounds out of a simple setup of: guitar-cables-pedalbords-more cables-amp head-speakercable-speaker cabinet – speaker-air-microphones-more cable etc.. ~ Michael Zander.

Electric Chubbyland: Popa Chubby Plays Jimi Hendrix is a live and studio album by Popa Chubby recorded in tribute to Jimi Hendrix. The concert part was recorded in Middletown, New York at the Corner Stage, February 10-11, 2006. The studio part, recorded in 2006 at the Serpentine Studio in Central Valley, includes "San Catri", an instrumental piece written by Popa Chubby in the style of Jimi Hendrix. The album was re-released in 2007 by Blind Pig Records. It includes "Fire" in place of "Hey Joe".
