The Austrian group Allerseelen have been active and innovative in the industrial and apocalyptic folk genre for many years. Their CDs and 7" editions have been issued on Aorta and their double-LP editions on Ahnstern. Allerseelen is a unique combination of industrial and folkloristic elements, and "Industrial Folklore" might be an appropriate expression to embrace these seemingly contradictory qualities. "Soviet Alien" is a journey through dark and mysterious soundscapes with obsure radio samples and pulsating minimal percussions. The album develops an anguishing atmosphere, somewhere between threatening ambient and deep droning rhythms - a sound universe full of Electronic and Industrial noises as well as historical and science fiction references.

Once again the lonesome poet/warrior known as Der Blutharsch is back from the lands of Austria with a brand-new work. "The Pleasures Received in Pain", thirteen new tracks that lead us through his world of epic battles and war chants, sung in English on a background of stunning orchestral themes and ancient acoustic/folk sounds. Albin Julius, the man behind the project, has finally established his style and interests, his voice, which was perhaps the only aspect that wasn't completely appropriate in the previous releases, is now at its best. Respecting the tradition which comes down from Albin's previous project The Moon Lay Hidden Beneath a Cloud, there are no titles for the tracks; nonetheless, among the lyrics, we can hear Der Blutharsch's anthems such as "We'll Never Give Up! And You?", or "The Pleasures Received in Pain". A great work, full of a fightin' spirit hard to find in today's flat music, which definitively sets up Der Blutharsch as being amongst the mightiest poets of modern Europa (source).

The late period Elvis sideburns that Albin Julius has been sporting in recent photos do not seem to be simply an aesthetic selection: he has fully embraced the cult of rock and roll. Although vestiges remain, he and the rest of the band have pushed away from the neofolk and avant garde martial trappings of the past into their own semi-perverted form of rock music. (source)

This dark and thrilling album gathers three Neofolk/Martial Industrial projects: Omne Datum Optimum (r.i.p.), Gaë Bolg and the Church of Fand, and Nothvs Filivs Mortis. Recommended for anyone into dark, weird, industrial music with original compositions and unique styles.

Der Blutharsch (“snow drenched in blood”, “dried blood” or “scab”) is the primary musical project of Austrian musician Albin Julius. Von Thronstahl is a German martial-industrial, neoclassical and neofolk band founded in 1995 by Catholic brothers Bernhard and Josef Wilhelm Maria Klumb.
Their music incorporates bombastic Wagnerian arrangements, neofolk-style acoustic guitar riffs, martial/industrial rhythms and sometimes also industrial rock elements.
The group has been often accused of propagating racist and fascist political views through their lyrics and appearances, which they combine with haute couture-related imagery on album covers and during live performances.
