My Lovely Sam Soon (a.k.a. My Name is Kim Sam Soon) is the story of insecure, weight-obsessed Sam Soon (Kim Sun Ah, who gained 15 pounds for the role), a loud, brash woman who is never afraid to speak her mind. She isn't pretty or slim or rich. She knows there's no Prince Charming waiting to whisk her off her feet. When she gets stressed out with life, she eats and sleeps and couldn't care less what anyone else thinks.

Hotaru works for a famous interior design company. It's a glamorous job but Hotaru's private life is totally the opposite of glamorous. She lives alone, and when she isn't working she's mostly lazing about her rented house in training wear. She's not interested in men. In fact, she isn't interested in anything. "I'd rather lay around than fool around," is her motto.

Two boys discover a plot to sell their local townsmen as slave labor. While trying to foil this evil plot, they come under the attack of Lu, the Hell's Windstaff, the man behind the slave trade. They now must learn deadly ancient styles to defeat him!
