Deputy Police Chief Brenda Johnson (Sedgwick) runs the Priority Homicide Division of the LAPD with an unorthodox style. Her innate ability to read people and obtain confessions helps her and her team solve the city's toughest, most sensitive cases.

Season 6 opens with the shooting death of a man. Among the messy complications hindering Brenda’s investigation: an affair involving the victim, a missing murder weapon and the squad’s difficult move to their new high-tech headquarters.
