Pier Paolo Pasolini – La Mura di Sana (1970)

Pasolini’s documentary is an appeal to UNESCO to save the destruction of a beautiful Yemen’s ancientl town of Sana’a. The old, fortified city has been inhabited for more than 2500 years and contains a wealth of intact architectural gems. It was declared a World Heritage City by the United Nations in 1984.

* I think the dating on Imdb (1964) is wrong, as I found elsewhere this documentary was filmed in 1970, just when Pasolini has finished filming Decameron in Yemen.
