L'outback australiano è un luogo solitario e isolato, il terreno di caccia ideale per un serial killer sadico con una passione per gli sport più sanguinari. In questa selvaggia terra di nessuno, la calura soffocante e opprimente non è l'unico pericolo dal quale guardarsi. Annoiati dalle rotte turistiche più frequentate, i giovani viaggiatori Rutger (Philippe Klaus) e Katarina (Shannon Ashlyn) desiderosi di conoscere la "vera" Australia si dirigono verso il bellissimo ma isolato Wolf Creek National Park. Lontano dalla civiltà, il maestoso e affascinante paesaggio caratterizzato da enormi spazi aperti nasconde terribili insidie e pericoli. Lo psicopatico cacciatore Mick Taylor (John Jarratt) è l'ultimo uomo al mondo che un viaggiatore dell’outback vorrebbe incontrare, il cui disprezzo per la vita umana ha raggiunto nuovi e ancor più terrificanti livelli. Intanto, coinvolto suo malgrado in una situazione da "horror", il viaggiatore Paul Hammersmith (Ryan Corr) sta per imbucarsi ad una festa alla quale nessuno vorrebbe essere stato invitato.
