La ricca signora Mudy, madre di Tony, un giovane paranoico e ritardato mentale, non riuscendo a rassegnarsi alle condizioni del figlio, organizza una crociera sul suo yacht invitando due giovani sposi, Aldo e Paula, e una ragazza, Ulla, che dovrebbe tentare di sedurre Tony risvegliandone gli istinti sopiti; ma l'indifferenza del giovane manda a monte il piano. Frattanto, raggiunta un'isola sperduta i cinque fanno la conoscenza dei due unici abitanti, Beba e Andro, sposi e pastori. Fra la donna e Tony nasce una tenera simpatia e gli altri, sperando possa essere questa un'occasione da sfruttare per sbloccare la situazione psichica del giovane, lasciano i due da soli nello yacht.

TOP SENSATION a.k.a. THE SEDUCERS leveled me. It's a stunningly well crafted, exceptionally well acted and cleverly written thriller that is unique, emotionally stirring and at times very unsettling.

The story concerns a wealthy middle-aged woman who is boating near an island in a yacht. Also aboard are her emotionally unstable teenage son, a foxy hooker (Edwige Fenech) hired to bring the son out of his shell via sex, a young handy-man who resembles David Hemmings from BLOWUP, and the handyman's sultry wife (the great Rosalba Neri) who enjoys shooting animals from the boat with a hunting rifle. They're all involved with each other sexually (excluding the deranged son, who won't go near the hooker) and they're all self-serving louts. They encounter a shepherd and his innocent young wife, who live alone on a tiny island, and they steal the shepherd's wife when they learn that the rich woman's son has a crush on her… but when the jealous shepherd boards the ship looking for her, the threat of violence becomes very present.

TOP SENSATION is truly a one-of-a-kind film experience as the plot is genuinely unpredictable and the characters are remarkably well drawn. The cinematography is impressive and stylish without calling attention to itself, and the music is also something to hear. In fact, everything about the film works, and brilliantly. It has derived some notoriety for its abundant nudity, particularly from sex symbols Fenech and Neri, but it has a great deal more to offer than that. I wouldn't hesitate to call it one of the very best gialli ever made, and fans of Italian pulp cinema won't want to miss it. It's well worth tracking down. Don't miss it
