Gigantesche astronavi si posizionano sopra 29 delle città più importanti della Terra. Pochi minuti dopo dalle astronavi viene trasmesso un messaggio di Anna, leader degli alieni Visitors, che afferma di venire in pace. I Visitors necessitano di acqua e minerali molto comuni sulla terra, offrendo in cambio le loro conoscenze in campo medico e tecnologico. Anna invita il giornalista televisivo Chad Deker per un'intervista e lo fa diventare ben presto un vero e proprio addetto stampa, con il compito di diffondere un'immagine positiva dei Visitors.

Non tutti però credono alle promesse fatte e nel corso del primo episodio diventa evidente che i Visitors sono presenti in segreto sul pianeta da diversi anni e sono infiltrati nella vita quotidiana anche nel ruolo dell'FBI.

Alcuni umani vengono reclutati nel Programma Ambasciatori di Pace, nato per diffondere il messaggio di pace dei Visitors, mentre altri (tra cui Jack Landry, un prete cattolico, e l'agente dell'FBI Erica Evans) danno vita ad una resistenza, dopo aver assistito a una riunione di essa, insieme alla Quinta Colonna, una cellula dormiente di alieni disertori.

V è una serie televisiva statunitense prodotta dal 2009 al 2011, nata come remake della miniserie TV V - Visitors del 1983, ideata da Kenneth Johnson. È prodotta dagli sceneggiatori di 4400 Scott Peters, Jace Hall, Steve Pearlman e Jeffrey Bell.

La serie ha debuttato in prima visione negli Stati Uniti il 3 novembre 2009, trasmessa dalla ABC. In Italia ha esordito il 4 marzo 2010 sulla pay TV Joi.

English Synopsis

Giant spaceships appear over 29 major cities throughout the world, and Anna (Morena Baccarin), the beautiful and charismatic leader of the extraterrestrial "Visitors", declares that they come in peace. The Visitors claim to only need a small amount of Earth's resources, in exchange for which they will share their advanced technological and medical knowledge. As a small number of humans begin to doubt the sincerity of the seemingly benevolent Visitors, FBI counter-terrorism agent Erica Evans (Elizabeth Mitchell) discovers that the aliens are actually reptilian humanoids wearing pseudo-human skin, have spent decades infiltrating human governments, businesses, and religious institutions, and are now in the final stages of their plan to take over the Earth. Erica joins the resistance movement, which includes Ryan (Morris Chestnut), a Visitor sleeper agent who over time developed human emotions and now wants to save humanity. Their rebellion is further challenged as the Visitors have won favor among the people of Earth by curing a variety of diseases, and have recruited Earth's youth—including Erica's son Tyler (Logan Huffman)—to serve them unknowingly as spies.

Dopo gli eventi che hanno chiuso la stagione precedente, Erica si mette sulle tracce di uno scienziato che le possa spiegare il significato del cielo rosso e scopre le vere intenzioni dei visitatori. Sulla nave spaziale, Ryan viene tenuto in isolamento in modo che Anna possa fare esperimenti sul bambino ibrido. Dopo essere stato usato da Anna, Chad decide di unirsi alla Quinta Colonna.
