Hinter jeder großen Maus steht ein Mann. Schon in jungen Tagen ist der kleine Walt mit einer großen Fantasie gesegnet, zeichnet gerne und träumt den ganzen Tag vor sich hin. Seine Tante und besonders sein großer Bruder Roy ermutigen ihn immer wieder, aus diesem Talent etwas zu machen, doch es geht nur schwer voran. Seinem Bruder nacheifernd, sucht er im Zweiten Weltkrieg das Glück erst beim Roten Kreuz und kurz nach seiner Heimkehr bei der Gründung seiner eigenen Firma “Laugh-O-gram”, mit der er die ersten Trickfilme herstellt. Doch die Zeiten sind hart und das Geschäft geht immer weiter den Bach hinunter. Doch so wie es Träumer tun: Sie lassen sich niemals entmutigen, und statt aufzugeben, werden die Träume immer größer.
