Spin-off di The Originals, Legacies riprende a raccontare le storie degli studenti della Salvatore School for the Young and Gifted, con un salto temporale di due anni dalla serie precedente. La protagonista è Hope Mikaelson, figlia 17enne del vampiro Klaus e della licantropa Hayley Marshall, conosciuta come il Tribrido, perché in lei si racchiudono i poteri di tre specie soprannaturali: è per metà licantropo, per un quarto vampira e per un quarto strega. Nata da ciò che gli umani percepiscono come malefico, Hope tenta ogni giorno di soffocare i suoi terribili impulsi per diventare una persona buona. Tra primi amori e dolori, segreti, tradimenti, amicizie e lezioni di vita, Hope crescerà accanto a tante altre giovani streghe, vampiri e licantropi come lei, in lotta ogni giorno contro i propri demoni per affrontare i mostri che li circondano. Riusciranno a diventare degli eroi o si faranno influenzare dal male che li ha creati?
