    nTopology 4.14.2 | 1.6 Gb

The Team nTopology is pleased to announce the availability of nTopology 4.14.2. This release features our new Column from Text and Table from Columns blocks that lets you create Tables easily. As with every release, nTop's dedicated support team is ready to answer your questions.

    Column from Text
    - The Column from Text block can be used to create Columns from text lists directly in nTop. You can then use the Columns to compose a Table using the Table from Columns block.
    - You can use this block in general data processing, design exploration, and design reporting workflows, among many others.
. You can use this block with the Text from Scalar block to convert Scalar values into Text values.
    - Block Name: Column from Text
    - Location: Utilities > General
    - Description: Creates a Column from a Text List.
. Rows: Text List to convert to a Column.
. Header (Optional): Option to define a Header value. If undefined, the resulting Column will have an invalid Header.

    Table from Columns
    - You can now use the Table from Columns block to compose Tables directly in nTop.
    - You can use this block in general data processing, design exploration, and design reporting workflows, among many others.
. You can use this block with the Export Table block to export the table to an external directory as a CSV file.
    - Block Name: Table from Columns
    - Location: Utilities > General
    - Description: Combines multiple Columns of data into a single Table.
. Columns: Columns to be combined.

    Block Updates
    Table type has two changes:
    - The existing property "columns" has been renamed "column count" for clarity.
    - There is a new property, "columns", that is a list of the new Column type.

    nTopology 4.14.2

    - Extract Columns block has been renamed to Extract Columns as Text to distinguish from the new Column type.
    - We updated the Export FE Mesh to CFD block to support the STL file format for FE surface meshes. This update lets you apply names to element sets defined with the CFD Boundary on FE Mesh block for STL files. Although the element set or boundary names are available in the STL file, the boundary types are not supported for this format.

    Bug Fixes
    - We fixed an issue with the "Cache Locally" and "Version Number" options appearing between Run and Manual Run Mode instead of after in the right-click context menu.
    - We updated the Thermal Analysis and Nonlinear Thermal Analysis blocks to use a pseudo-static solver when radiation boundary loads are applied to improve the accuracy of the thermal results.

    nTopology 4.14.2

nTopology introduced the concept of implicit modeling for mechanical design, which is an innovative, modern, and scalable way define parts and products. It has many benefits to end-users and companies, such as the elimination of model failures, speed of changes or iterations, and scalability to name a few. But implicit modeling enables so much more. In this informational session, we'll explore a topic that is redefining product development – field-driven design. In short, field-driven design is a way for design, analysis, and manufacturing teams to overlay information into one engineering model. This approach enables orders of magnitude increase in design iteration speed and greatly improves collaboration between teams.

How Field-Driven Design Allows Engineers to Design for Additive Manufacturing

Watch this information session where we'll define field-driven design, show examples of how it enables better knowledge sharing, and show how it promotes the development of more sophisticated, highly engineered products. You'll also better understand how nTopology is addressing today's engineering problems through its nTop Platform product.
nTopology was founded in 2015 to enable engineers and designers to create any geometry — no matter how complex — and meet the requirements of high-performance products.
