    nTopology 4.13.3

    nTopology 4.13.3 | 1.6 Gb

The Team nTopology is pleased to announce the availability of nTopology 4.13.3. This release features our new If-Else (Beta) block for an improved workflow logic experience, also moved some block information to the Right Side Panel and right-click context menu.

    - The If-Else (Beta) block provides control flow to your nTop workflow, enabling it to decide based on a condition. It evaluates the boolean Condition input and returns the Then input if the Condition is true or the Else input if the Condition is false. The primary overload of If-Else (Beta) works differently than other nTop blocks. When set up correctly, only the Then or Else input will run based on the Condition, returning that output value to the If-Else (Beta) block. Your nTop workflow not running the unneeded branch is beneficial if you run computationally expensive workflows (e.g., meshing) or have a branch that produces a failure.

    nTopology 4.13.3

    - This block is used in General Logic, Mesh Setup, Simulation Setup, Scan Data Alignment, Field Logic workflows, and many others.
    - Block Name: If-Else
    - Location: Beta > Create
    - <Bool, Any, Any> Description: Returns a value based on a given condition.
Condition (Bool): Condition used to evaluate execution.
Then (Any): Output when the Condition is True.
Else (Any): Output when the Condition is False.
Output: Any (Matches Then and Else inputs)
    - <Bool Field, Scalar Field, Scalar Field> Description: Returns a field of values evaluated based on a given condition
Condition: Condition used to evaluate execution at a field point.
Then: Output when the field value of Condition is True at the evaluated point.
Else: Output when the field value of Condition is False at the evaluated point.
    Output: Scalar Field
    - <Bool Field, Vector Field, Vector Field> Description: Returns a field of values evaluated based on a given condition
Condition: Condition used to evaluate execution at a field point.
Then: Output when the field value of Condition is True at the evaluated point.
Else: Output when the field value of Condition is False at the evaluated point.
    Output: Vector Field

    Usage Improvements
    - We added a size and reversed property to the List Interface type so that you can now compose generic functions that operate on lists.

    nTopology 4.13.3

    - We are now showing the object name and type at the top of the Display tab of the Right Side Panel so you have more clarity around which object is selected.

    nTopology 4.13.3

    - We moved the block version near the top of the Information tab of the Right Side Panel and now show the release stage as well.

    nTopology 4.13.3

    - We moved the Version Number selection menu and Cache Locally option from the Information tab of the Block Details flyout to the right-click context menu.

    nTopology 4.13.3

    - We modified the viewport size to not span underneath the notebook, ribbon, and side panels for a more consistent and efficient nTop experience (see Heat Sink example file before/after below).

    nTopology 4.13.3

    Block Updates
    - We updated the Topology Optimization and Field Optimization (Beta) blocks to support multiple Remap Constraint (Beta) blocks in the Optimization Constraint List.
    - We updated the Modal Analysis block to automatically switch from the ‘Block Lanczos’ method to the ‘Subspace’ method to avoid frequency and mode shape calculation failures.

    Bug Fixes
    - We fixed an issue where you could not switch the type of an Any variable to an appropriate type.
    - We fixed an issue where switching the type of a List Element variable would cause nTop to exit unexpectedly.
    - We fixed an issue where you could not switch types of list variables properly.
    - We fixed an issue involving block icons not showing in the Right Side Panel.
    - We fixed an issue with transparent rendered objects turning opaque when using interactive input controls.

    nTopology 4.13.3

nTopology introduced the concept of implicit modeling for mechanical design, which is an innovative, modern, and scalable way define parts and products. It has many benefits to end-users and companies, such as the elimination of model failures, speed of changes or iterations, and scalability to name a few. But implicit modeling enables so much more. In this informational session, we'll explore a topic that is redefining product development – field-driven design. In short, field-driven design is a way for design, analysis, and manufacturing teams to overlay information into one engineering model. This approach enables orders of magnitude increase in design iteration speed and greatly improves collaboration between teams.

How Field-Driven Design Allows Engineers to Design for Additive Manufacturing

Watch this information session where we'll define field-driven design, show examples of how it enables better knowledge sharing, and show how it promotes the development of more sophisticated, highly engineered products. You'll also better understand how nTopology is addressing today's engineering problems through its nTop Platform product.
nTopology was founded in 2015 to enable engineers and designers to create any geometry — no matter how complex — and meet the requirements of high-performance products.
