AXYZ Design has just updated Anima, its low-cost crowd-simulation system for 3ds Max and Cinema 4D. The software is designed to be simple enough to allow non-animators to add crowds to visualisation shots.
New features in Anima 1.5 include:
- Added new overlay motion clips.
- Reduced the frequency with which the Clone modifier used some of the salutation overlay clips.
- Added a new SSS material for 3ds Max and V-Ray.
- Solved some rendering issues when using Thinkbox’s Deadline software.
- General bug-fixing: most of them related to motion clips.
The software comes as a standalone application with connectivity plugins for 3ds Max 2009 and above, and Cinema 4D R11 and above. A Windows-only Maya plugin is available in beta.
