Wolfram recently released SystemModeler 4.1, a cyber-physical system-level simulation and modeling platform. The new release of SystemModeler will be able to integrate the reliability analysis technology of Mathematica. This integration will help engineers determine which parts of the system would benefit the most from their efforts; allowing design teams to better focus their improvement efforts and helping them make the most of the design cycle.
Currently, Mathematica’s reliability analysis is commonly used by satellite systems, flight systems and the consumer electronics industry to improve product reliability, failure analysis and warranty estimations.
As for simulation, the new release will allow users to link results from previous simulations into new experiments using the exporting CombiTimeTables. Furthermore, users can assign model inputs using the Mathematica TimeSeries. This additional connection to Mathematica will support scalar/vector values, single/multiple series, and regular/irregular sampling as inputs.
Additional improvements to SystemModeler 4.1 include:
- Import/export of models
- Data connections based on FMI Standard for Simulink, Flowmaster and IBM Rational Rhapsody
- Import of subsystems such as 3rd party control system models for use in Modelica
- Protection of IP when exchanging models
- The organization of systems into series, parallel or other structures
- The construction of hierarchical models that contain reliability block diagrams & fault trees
- Graphical user interface with operations up to 50x faster
