ThermoAnalytics, Inc. has released CoTherm 1.3.0, is CAE coupling software that provides a flexible, generic, and user-friendly way of implementing complex CAE processes with an application independent interface for the coupling of different simulation codes, including thermal, CFD, FEA, 1D, and other CAE domains.

    Version 1.3.0 (Released 2017-09-08)

    New Features
    Curve Importing
    - Added Curve Variable Resource to read in curves from Microsoft Excel (XLSX) files.
    - Added Curve Import Task to import Curve Variable’s values into a TDF.
    Enhancements
    Python Integration
    - Updated Python installation to version to 3.6.1.
    - NumPy, OpenPyXL, PyWavelets packages are included in the distribution.
    Windows Batch Mode
    - Fixed console output for CoTherm on Windows to no longer require creating a separate window.
    - Removed the –no-stop and –console command-line options
    Deprecation
    - Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 (Tikanga) is no longer supported.
    Bug Fixes
    - Bug 5329: Included Python 3 binary does not run without LD_LIBRARY_PATH set
    - Bug 5404: Counter Variables return 0 before starting a process, regardless of initial value
    - Bug 5406: Current Working Directory is not reset at the start of a process
    - Bug 5410: Using abort button on hanging process results in crash on next process start
    - Bug 5414: Dialogs, such as the defined text file's editor, are too small
    - Bug 5427: TAITherm selections behave strangely when sorting is changed
    - Bug 5428: Existing process crashes upon changing the TDF
    - Bug 5429: File .baseName modifier strips path
    - Bug 5430: Poor performance with many monitors
    - Bug 5457: STAR-CCM+ files with report groups causes application to hang with STAR-CCM+ 12
    - Bug 5467: Symbol highlighting sometimes highlights strings that are not symbols

About ThermoAnalytics CoTherm. Coupling CAE simulation products for multiphysics analysis requires a complex process. Fortunately, a complex process does not need to require hours of mastering scripts and scripting interfaces, or repeatedly exporting and importing results by hand. CoTherm eliminates the time sinks commonly involved with multiphysics co-simulation, freeing up your time to focus on actual analysis.

CoTherm facilitates running complex multiphysics simulation processes between CAE simulation products. A co-simulation process can be edited directly in CoTherm’s graphical user interface (GUI) without using complex scripting, enabling users to set up, execute, and understand the results of a coupled simulation process. This GUI is intuitive to engineers and analysts, and reduces the number of actions required from the user.

CoTherm’s architecture enables enhancement and customization, making it adaptable to a wide variety of multidisciplinary problems and simulation tools. Meanwhile, its operation preserves the integrity of these processes and data in a consistent, reliable manner. Throughout the co-simulation process, CoTherm’s run controls and Message Window provide detailed process control and feedback, while CoTherm’s Monitors make it easy to view and interpret results within the interface.
