Considerable resources are spent to understand the dynamics of oil reservoirs. Sophisticated modeling applications are used to simulate the flow of fluids in oil reservoirs, generating massive amounts of data. Tecplot RS lets you visualize the data and reveal the solutions. Tecplot RS allows users to assemble data from diverse sources into an integrated plotting environment where it may be easily analyzed, explored, and shared.

User-defined groups
The User Group function allows you to: create group entities where the variable values are calculated from two or more wells, sum or average individual well values, or compute the ratios from the summed or averaged results. You can then add your new entity to the list and plot it with any of the XY plotting routines.
Filters
The filter options have been greatly enhanced for the XY plot types to drill down to the information you want. Sort by name, entity, type, or variable value. You can sort again to refine a subset of entities, such as wells, and only those entities will be displayed in the XY plotting options.
Selection Sets
A powerful new addition to Tecplot RS is the ability to make selection sets - an editable list of well names. Multiple sets can be saved and reloaded as needed. Select specific lists of entities for XY plot types. Limit which wells are displayed in 2D and 3D grid plots as well as create new User Groups.
NNC Display
NNC (Non-Neighbor Connection) data can be displayed in both 2D and 3D views to reveal faults, pinch-outs and other features. NNC faces can be colored by data specific to those cells, and a separate NNC property legend and variable name can be added to the paper layout template.
Histogram Plots
A quick histogram plot can be popped open to provide a statistical analysis of grid properties. Calculations may be limited to a single LGR or IJK range. Standard deviation and quartile values are also provided.
