MISCELLANEOUS SOLVER FIXES AND ENHANCEMENTS

[Bug 8114] Study execution hangs after 1st cycle
In the past, in some special conditions, a study could hang after the 1st cycle. This was happening mostly when using the HEEDS Software Development Kit (SDK). This has now beenfixed and the study executes as expected.
[Bug 8131] Find designs executes remote analyses as local analyses
In the 2021.1 version, when using Find Designs, when restarting an interrupted study which had partially completed designs with (analyses running on remote machine), the analyses of these partial designs were executed locally instead of remotely This has now been fixed andthe study executes as expected.
[Bug 7987] Study execution hangs after 10th cycle
In the 2020.2 version, when running a study with the MATLAB portal, in some cases the study got stuck after 10 designs. Stopping and restarting the study would not solve as the study was stopping a bit later. This is now fixed and the study doesn’t hang anymore.

MISCELLANEOUS PORTAL AND TAGGING FIXES AND ENHANCEMENTS

[Bug 8089] Plantsim version 16.0.5 is now supported
In the HEEDS 2021.1 release, when using the Plantsim portal with Plantsim 16.0.5 with experiment manager 15.2.12, the file format of the Planstim DOE table file changed. Because of that, HEEDS could not read the data into the GUI after parsing. This is now fixed and works as expected.
[Bug 8121] Friendship Systems name updated to CAESES
In the previous version of HEEDS, the portal name for Friendship Systems was obsolete due to a change in the product name. This has now been updated to CAESES and moved to the CAD portal group.
[Bug 8088] The solver install path for the Simcenter 3D Motion portal needed quotes
In the previous version of HEEDS, when the solver install path for the Simcenter 3D Motion portal was defined without quotes, an error occurred when running the analysis due to a space character in the path. Adding double quotes solved the issue. This is now fixed and by default all paths containing space characters are used with double quotes.


HEEDS MDO is a robust multidisciplinary design optimization software package that automates the search for better solutions within a given design space and dramatically reduces design time.

HEEDS MDO enables you to quickly find designs that perform extremely well according to multiple criteria, while simultaneously satisfying multiple constraints and using a large number of variables. In an overnight run, HEEDS can produce results that would take weeks to accomplish manually.

The release of HEEDS 2021.1 brings significant enhancements that accelerate your product development processes. In this release, developers continued to expand our portal offering with threenew ones and enhancements to existing portals. The addition of the new portals brings our total number of interfaces to 59, complemented by an additional 33 general templates.

This release also includes new features to generate and make use of AI Neural Networks. The Neural Network Builder in HEEDS Post allows users to readily transform their simulation and test datasets into powerful predictive ONNX models that can immediately be incorporated within HEEDS MDO workflows.

The resume and restart capabilities have been simplified, streamlined and enhanced in terms of utilizing previous study data from multiple sources.

Enhancing Insight & Discovery capabilities, developers have added Sobol sensitivity analysis and two new quality metrics to help users better judge the quality of surrogates.

HEEDS 2021.1 also offers several other new features and updates that continue to streamline design space exploration. It should also be noted that HEEDS 2021.1 will be the last release to support Python 2.7. Starting HEEDS 2021.2, the only supported versionsof Python will be 3.x
