Siemens FiberSIM 16.1.1

Siemens PLM Software has released FiberSIM 16.1.1. The software can be used to design and manufacture composite structures and is suitable for the aerospace, automotive, marine, and wind energy industries.

This is a list of reported fixes and corrections for the 16.1.1 release.

9437634 MAV hangs when exporting to NXLC with the "Use Mapped Orientations"option.An additional error condition has been added to reflect the failure to meshplies for export.
9453762 3D Ply Table fails to parse all laminates in an NX assembly structure.This issue has been resolved. 3D Ply Tables will now report all plies in childlaminates from different storage documents, provided those documents arefully loaded.
9447576 Using the Edit > Form Find function for plies results in an Encapta crash.This issue has been resolved. The Form Find function now works as intended.
9426286 Highlighting the splice group in the part shows extremely distortedgeometry.The Segment Length Factor option has been added to Splice Groups.Reducing this value greatly improves curve quality in cases such as those withplanar laminate surfaces.
9432894 New option to allow exporting text to flat patterns without includingparameter names.The new option is Prefix Label Name. Disabling this option (which is on bydefault) will remove the name prefix for each label field selected such thatonly the value is exported. For example, "Name: P001" will become "P001" ifthe prefix option is unchecked
9386680 New ability to display Material Specifications in 2D Ply Tables."Material Specification" has been added to the list of selectable fields whendefining columns for a 2D ply table.
9343595 NXLC H5 export causes a "memory access violation" crash.An error condition has been added to reflect failures to mesh plies for export.
9320799 "Extend Along Reference Curve" greyed out after a Zone Transition Split isperformed.This issue has been resolved. Reference curves will be appropriately assignedto split transitions.
9319553 "Failed to intersect the Laminate's Net Boundary with the extendedboundary of P###" error message.This ambiguous error has been updated to reflect the actual problem: failureto complete net analysis when running extended producibility for a design-to-extended ply. In this case, the simulation will complete, allowing flat patternsto be created.
9309100 Butt splices created for a Splice Group with Overlap and Overlap SpliceRegion.This correction means splice curves entirely within an overlap region will betreated as overlap splices.




About Siemens FiberSIM. Fibersim is a suite of CAD-integrated software tools designed to reduce the costs associated with thedesign and manufacture of composite parts. Fibersim products work together with CAD systems to allowa single 3D model of a composite part to be used from conceptual design through fabrication.

The product consists of three different packages:

Base - This level allows ply-based modeling only. Users with the Base license will be able to developply-based composite models and open any part that is simplified to Base-level objects.
Pro - (roughly equal to the former “CEE”) - This level allows you to perform layer and ply-basedcomposite modeling. You can work with parts with layers, overlay zones, and ply data. You will beable to open parts with zone data but unable to edit/change any zone objects. Only overlay zonescan be created and edited using a Pro-level license.
Elite - (roughly equal to the former “ACEE”) - This level allows access to all of the supportedcomposite modeling methodologies within Fibersim. You can open and work with models with allzone, layer, overlay zone, and ply data. The Elite level also supports Volume Fill and Wind bladedesign.

Fibersim also contains a suite of optional products, that enhance its capabilities, such as Flat PatternExport, Laser Projection and Fiber Placement Interface. These products work in conjunction withFibersim to ensure a seamless link from the 3D CAD model to the manufacturing floor.

Because all information required for analysis and manufacturing is generated from a single CAD mastermodel, Fibersim ensures that all downstream processes will be driven by data that is complete and up-to-date.
