Creo View ECAD now supports collaborative solder mask workflows, enhancing ECAD-MCAD collaboration. This feature allows users to visualize, compare, and validate solder mask areas defined in ECAD designs. With this release:
- Creo View ECAD parses solder mask attributes, such as layer, ID, type, owner tool, from IDX/EDA files.
- ECAD Compare supports attribute, geometry, and placement comparisons for solder masks, with configurable presets and detailed reports.
- ECAD Validate displays solder mask transactions from incremental IDX files, with full interaction and cross-selection with Creo Parametric.
Benefits
- Streamlined board-level collaboration.
- Improved design accuracy.
- Ensured traceability of solder mask changes across domains.
What's new in Creo View MCAD Adapters
OAuth2-Based Authentication for File Synchronization Worker in Windchill
Description
As Single Sign-On (SSO) adoption grows in Windchill environments, traditional IP-based Trusted Host authentication for remote CAD workers has become outdated and less secure. Starting with Windchill 12.1.2, the old method is deprecated. Windchill 13.0.2 introduces a secure, modern alternative—OAuth 2.0 with Client Credential Grants (CCG). Creo View Adapter 12.1 now supports this capability for Creo Parametric workers. CAD workers can be configured with SSO using OAuth CCG, enabling secure, scalable, and standards-compliant authentication for publishing workflows. This enhancement simplifies the setup, strengthens security, and aligns with the best practices of enterprise authentication.
Benefits
- SSO support for worker configuration simplifies secure workflow publishing using the OAuth-based authentication.
- Enhanced UI allows users to easily enter OAuth parameters for a seamless SSO setup.
- Improved security and integration align with enterprise-grade standards, reducing manual handling of credential, and improving interoperability.
Expanded Export Formats for 3D Models and Drawings
Description
Starting with this release, Creo View Adapter for Creo Parametric supports exporting to a broader range of file formats as additional output options:
- 3D Data—Supports export to 3MF and CGR formats.
- Drawings—Supports export to Medusa, Sthenos, and TIFF formats.
- TIFF Export—Available as both a default and additional format for enhanced flexibility.
Benefits
- Greater flexibility with output formats—Supports diverse workflows and external system integration.
- Improved compatibility—Facilitates sharing and archiving with widely accepted formats.
- Streamlined publishing—Reduces post-processing and format conversion efforts.
Improved Visualization of Holes and Blends in PVZ Models
Description
Before the Creo View Adapter 12.1 release, PVZ models displayed holes and blends as square shapes, reducing visual fidelity and causing confusion. This issue is now resolved: holes and blends are rendered accurately, preserving geometry and improving clarity.
Benefits
- Accurate representation—Enhances visual accuracy for reviews and downstream processes.
- Improved user confidence—Reduces misinterpretation during analysis and collaboration.
- Streamlined workflows—Minimizes manual verification and corrections.
Built-In Startup and Maintenance Scripts for CAD Workers
Description
Starting with this release, Creo View Adapter for NX, Inventor, and SolidWorks includes basic startup and maintenance scripts by default. For example, the SolidWorks worker directory includes a swstartup.bat file. This script runs automatically during each worker start or restart. By default, it deletes the WWGM cache located at <setup_directory>\.wf, as defined by the PTC_WF_ROOT variable in the worker configuration.
Benefits
- Automated maintenance—Ensures consistent cleanup and environment readiness.
- Customizable scripts—Can be extended for additional setup or cleanup tasks.
- Improved stability—Reduces issues from leftover cache or temporary files.
Application Support Updates
Support for the following application versions is added:
- Creo Parametric MORs 10.0.9.0, 11.0.5.0 and 12.4.1.0
- NX 2506
- Inventor 2026
Support for the following application versions is removed:
- NX 2206
- Inventor 2023
Removal of Microsoft Office 2016 and 2019 Support
Microsoft will retire support for Office 2016 and Office 2019 in October 2025. In alignment with this, starting with Creo View 12.1, the Adapter for Office will no longer support these versions for publishing workflows. This change ensures compatibility with the latest Microsoft security and performance standards.
