PTC has released Creo 10.0.6.0. Creo 10 helps you deliver your best designs in less time, with new composite tools and enhancements for electrification and ergonomics design, MBD, simulation-driven design, and manufacturing.

ECAD

Automatically Set BOARD_SIDE Parameter Values for Components
- Now when importing from IDX and IDF, the BOARD_SIDE parameter value , TOP or BOTTOM, are set automatically on import. Changing a component’s placement reference can change the value. For example, when you move a component placed on the top of the board to the bottom of the board, after regeneration, the value changes from TOP to BOTTOM.
- BOARD_SIDE value is driven by the system, therefore, it is a locked parameter.


Benefis: Allows easier downstream automation for components on the top or bottom of the board.

Import User-Defined Attributes
- You can now use IDX to import user-defined attributes from ECAD tools as locked parameters in MCAD.
- The attributes are non-collaborative.


Benefis: Easier exchange of contextual information between ECAD and MCAD engineers.

Model-Based Definition Models

Default Reference Type for Dimension Creation in Model-Based Definition Models
In Model-Based Definition (MBD) models, newly created dimensions will use the surface reference type by default. Subsequent dimensions will continue to use the most recently applied reference type. When creating dimensions in MBD, surface type references are required to ensure the dimensions are created in a semantic and machine-readable way. This enhancement streamlines and improves the dimension creation workflow by updating the Select Reference to use surface type by default. It also reduces the number of clicks needed to create a dimension in MBD.
