National Instruments is pleased to announce the availability of DIAdem 2020 SP1, the tool of software designed specifically so that engineers and scientists are more efficient when locating, inspect, analyse and inform on the data of measure.
DIAdem 2020 SP1 Release Notes - Date: September 2020
General
- The DIAdem icon was adapted to the new NI design and the REPORT template design was modernized.
- The interface for Python DataPlugins has been extended. You can now check within the DataPlugin whether the file format is suitable for the DataPlugin. You can also specify whether the DataPlugin should only index a file or whether it should also be possible to load this file. If the Python code contains errors, the DataPlugin reports them to the user interface.
DIAdem NAVIGATOR, DataFinder, Data Portal
- You can create calculation channels by executing mathematical operations on the channels of an existing channel group using a simple formula, or by using a calculation from the calculation manager. In a formula you can use channels, constants, numbers, and variables. To execute mathematical operations on them, you can use the basic arithmetic operations and all functions displayed in the dialog interface. If the functions in the formula channel are not sufficient to complete your task, create a calculation from the formula in the Calculation Manager and edit it there.
- You can also use channel names containing DIAdem or VBS names in the formula of formula channels if you enter them as CH("Channel Name"). If channel names contain special characters, DIAdem inserts them into the formula with the expression CH("channel name").
- For formula channels, you can specify a unit for the result. If you use quantity-based calculation, DIAdem checks whether the program can also execute calculations with the associated physical quantities.
- DIAdem includes DataPlugins that allow you to load Real Drive Emissions (RDE) data according to EU regulations and save RDE analysis results.
- In the Bus Log Converter the ID mode NMEA2000 has been added in the database configuration. This mode is standard for serial data networking of electronic devices in naval vessels and is also frequently used by GPS hardware on commercial vehicles or agricultural machinery. For more information, visit the National Marine Electronics Association website.
DIAdem VIEW
- A new Drag & Drop function for the VIEW panel makes it easier to move VIEW areas.
DIAdem ANALYSIS
- The new RDE (Real Drive Emissions) functions allow you to evaluate the measured emissions from motor vehicles while driving on public roads, according to European standards. The calculations are based on the "COMMISSION REGULATION (EU) 2018/1832" of November 5, 2018.
Preview Feature
- The preview features give an outlook on features in future versions. The functions to be unlocked are still under development and the user interface, the API, or the scope of functions may change. To enable this function the dialog box Settings»DIAdem Settings»General.
You can specify for DIAdem REPORT, whether DIAdem -when plotting xy-channels - automatically determines the x-channel if it is not explicitly specified. If you have selected this setting and the x-channel is not explicitly specified, DIAdem plots xy-channels via the associated x-channel. If you have not selected this setting and the x-channel is not explicitly specified, DIAdem plots xy-channels via the index.

1003721 In the XNET driver, the vector length of the variables XNETSigName, XNETSigActive, and XNETDbSigName is limited to 255, although more than 255 signals can be defined in the block. This means that not all signals of an XNET driver block can be changed with

1007810 The ValueMapping rules defined with the AddPair method for ValueMappingRules do not work as expected in the 1:1 replacement.

1010863 In a differential characteristic diagram, DIAdem also determines the minimum and maximum from various dialog boxes outside the overlap range of the two characteristic diagrams.
………………………………………………………………………………….
1012855 Selective loading of many channel groups in DIAdem NAVIGATOR may cause DIAdem to crash.
………………………………………………………………………………….
1018152 A user-defined context menu in DIAdem NAVIGATOR is displayed but not executed.
………………………………………………………………………………….
1058749 In the dialog box for histogram classification, the class limits channel is always disabled.
………………………………………………………………………………….
1070133 The Ctrl-Shift-C shortcut for recording the settings of a dialog box in a script does not work in the dialog box for the legend of an axis system in DIAdem REPORT.
………………………………………………………………………………….
1077385 The Curvesnippet command does not work in axis systems which you inserted using the function bar.
………………………………………………………………………………….
1082616 If you specify only one y-channel in the pulse detection dialog box, the calculation may not be executed.
………………………………………………………………………………….
1085191 The "Event Search" dialog box does not display any results in the preview when you open it for the first time.
………………………………………………………………………………….
1103353 Formula channels whose used channels do not comply with the naming conventions for calculations cannot be converted into formulas of the Calculation Manager from the "Edit Formula" dialog.
The names of the inputs and outputs in the Calculation Manager must comply with certain conventions. For example, the name must begin with a letter, have a maximum length of 255 characters, and contain only ASCII characters. If the channel names used in the formula channel do not comply with these conventions during the automatic conversion of the formula in the Calculation-Manager, an error will occur.

Python DataPlugins may consume memory each time they load a file. Also, Python DataPlugins do not report any code errors to the user interface.
………………………………………………………………………………….
1105451 Under certain conditions, 2D tables that contain an empty header text incorrectly display the channel name in the header.
………………………………………………………………………………….
1102439 If you have selected "Output print data as graphic” in the DIAdem settings for REPORT, DIAdem prints the layout as PDF only in black and white and the printout takes a long time.
………………………………………………………………………………….
1027368 In the Event Search dialog box, DIAdem replaces the specified time channel with the first channel of the same name, if this name also exists in another channel group.
………………………………………………………………………………….
1079879 When loading a REPORT layout that contains a text object, an access violation may occur under certain circumstances.
………………………………………………………………………………….
1084423 In a characteristic diagram, DIAdem calculates the displayed minimum and maximum also from values outside the overlap range of the two diagrams.
