InnovMetric PolyWorks Metrology Suite 2019 IR6 | 2.6 Gb

InnovMetric Software Inc., has released intermediate release of PolyWorks 2019. This latest major release delivers new functionalities that simplify the lives of users while keeping them fully in control of their metrology processes.

General
- The French, Japanese, Portuguese, and Turkish user interfaces have been updated.
PolyWorks|Inspector
- Object measurement scripts can now be used to measure cross-sections.
- When CNC probing or CNC scanning, PolyWorks now verifies whether the measurement path is entirely or partially out of reach by the probing or scanning assembly such as when the measurement object cannot be reached by the current tool orientation.
. Out-of-reach issues are avoided when generating and optimizing measurement paths as well as when adding objects to a measurement sequence using the assisted sequencing technology.
. The collision detection functionality flags out-of-reach issues the same way as potential collisions in both the Sequence Editor pane and the measurement path in the 3D scene
. Out-of-reach issues in a measurement sequence can also be analyzed while in the Measurement Path Analysis mode. The side of the working volume that is related to that issue is displayed in red wireframe.
. When performing operations outside of a measurement sequence, such as when CNC probing a measurement object, a warning icon informs the user of out-of-reach issues. If these operations are launched anyway, the probing or scanning tool assembly and the CMM table are displayed in red in the 3D scene. The side of the working volume that is related to that issue is displayed in red wireframe
- When CNC probing using either the CNC CMM or I++ CMM plug-ins, tactile scanning is now supported for plane features. The Grid step point acquisition parameter allows users to adjust the tactile scanning grid pattern. PolyWorks creates an efficient grid pattern according to the properties specified and the cropping of the nominal plane primitive.
- The environmental data gathered by the probing device, such as pressure and air temperature, is now kept for each measured point. This functionality is unavailable for scanned or imported points.Other improvements have also been made in the following dialog boxes regarding the environmental data of measured points:
. New columns have been added to the Edit Measured Points dialog box to display this data. The columns are only visible when their respective values have been measured.
. New columns can be added to the Device Positions and Targets dialog box to display the mean, minimum, and maximum temperature.
. The new Environmental Parameters section has been added in the Properties dialog box of data objects. It displays the mean, minimum, and maximum temperatures and is only visible when their values have been measured.
. The new Points + Time + Environmental Parameters template in the Text File Export Options for the exportation of point clouds allows users to also export the time and environmental data associated with each point.
Other improvements have also been made in the reports regarding the environmental data of measured points:
- New columns can be added to the Feature Measured Points Table, the Feature Table, and the Device Positions Table in reports to display information relating to this data.The new Temperature report template can now be used to create report tables from data objects.
- Units of pressure and temperature can now be added to the header of report tables.
- The deviation direction flag type can now be selected independently for the X, Y, and Z axis. Three list boxes have thus been added to the Flags section of the Options > Objects > Deviation Direction Flags page of the PolyWorks|Inspector Options dialog box to replace the previous list box that applied for all axes.
- Fixed issue:
. An issue when importing VRML files with color information has been fixed

PolyWorks|Reviewer

- CAD models in the IGES and STEP formats can now be imported in PolyWorks|Reviewer, using the File > Open CAD Models menu item or the corresponding button in the Standard Toolbar, as shown to the right. The following changes have been made:
. The new View CAD Models interactive mode is automatically activated when a CAD model is imported. The available actions in the 3D Scene toolbar and in the menus are the same as those available for the View Polygonal Models interactive mode.
. The Reference/Data subcategory was added to the Objects category of the Options dialog box. It contains the CAD Models page that includes the new options to set the tessellation tolerance, with a default value of 0.01 mm, and the maximum stitching distance, with a default value of 0.05 mm for CAD models. A new check box, cleared by default, on the Options > Objects > Reference/Data > CAD Models > STEP page, now allows users to create an element group for each body when selected.
- Fixed issue:
. PolyWorks|ReportLoop could not connect to a PolyWorks|Inspector project in which the Allow saving project in PolyWorks|Reviewer option was cleared. The issue has been fixed.

CMM plug-ins

- LK Metrology now requires PolyWorks Metrology Suite users to obtain an "LK CMM Driver License" to connect their PolyWorks|Inspector™ CNC CMM plug-in to the following LK/Nikon controller models: MCC-200, MCC-250, NMC-100, NMC-300. To ensure continuing compatibility of your LK/Nikon CNC CMM controller with PolyWorks MS 2019 IR6 or later versions, install and launch this application, then follow LK's procedure.Alternately, type in the following addresses in the search bar of your web browser:
. Application: https://dfoef594zmthn.cloudfront.net/other/LKLicensingInstaller.zip
. LK procedure: http://www.lkmetrology.com/LKDriverLicense/
- The names of former Nikon machine models and controllers have been renamed to LK.In addition, the LK MCC-200, LK MCC-250, and the LK NMC-300 controllers now support the SP25M tool part. Therefore, tactile scanning is now supported when using these controllers. Note that:
. When using these LK controllers, tactile scanning is not supported for plane features.
. Tool parts SM25-1 through SM25-5 have been added to the list of available parts.
- When using the CNC CMM plug-in, the Hexagon HH-ACW-43MW probe head can now be used as part of a virtual machine configuration when the Virtual Controllercontroller model is specified. Therefore, those using that probe head with the I++ CMM plug-in can now use the Offline Simulation mode offered for the CNC CMM plug-in, such as to verify whether the measurement path is collision-free.Once the probe head is selected, the related adapter/extension tool parts can now be added to create the virtual tool.
- Fixed issue:
. An issue when tactile scanning large cylinders with a high point density using the I++ CMM plug-in has been fixed

The 2019 release of the PolyWorks Metrology Suite delivers new functionalities that simplify the lives of users while keeping them fully in control of their metrology processes:

Object measurement scripts that allow integrating all the custom measurement methods of clients within the standard PolyWorks workflow. These methods are directly embedded in measurement objects, which leaves users free to build their own library of custom measurement methods that meet all of their manufacturing requirements.
An assisted CNC CMM sequencing approach that greatly accelerates the time required to create CNC CMM sequences. Measurement specialists simply select and add the desired measurement objects to the PolyWorks|Inspector sequence editor to automatically obtain:
- The optimal object measurement order
- The proper tool orientation for each measurement
- A collision-free measurement path

With PolyWorks Metrology Suite 2019, users can now easily adapt PolyWorks|Inspector to their production environment by creating short scripted measurement methods that serve to:
- Define their own set of custom measurement techniques;
- Support all their gauging devices;
- Simplify the measurement acquisition process; and
- Provide additional measurement guidance with enhanced measurement feedback to quality control operators.

PolyWorks Metrology Suite 2019 proposes a novel assisted sequencing approach that automates a large part of the process. Measurement specialists simply select and add the desired measurement objects to the PolyWorks|Inspector sequence editor to automatically obtain.
