InnovMetric Software Inc., has released intermediate release the 2018 release of PolyWorks. This release empowers users to create and deliver shop-floor-ready inspection projects that are directly playable with any 3D measurement devices.

Intermediate Release 7:

General
- The Chinese and German user interfaces have been updated.
- Issues with the STEP CAD model importer have been fixed.
PolyWorks|Inspector
- The latest release of Spatial’s 3D InterOp CAD import technology has been integrated. The Creo 5.0 format can now be imported.
- An issue when anchoring reference targets on Reference objects that have a virtual surface has been fixed.
PolyWorks|Modeler
- The Autodesk Inventor add-in used to import PolyWorks PWSF parametric sketch files into Inventor now supports Inventor 2019.
- The macro script command language can now be used to morph polygo nal models. The new commands that have been added begin with the following syntax: EDIT MODEL MORPH
Portable metrology plug-ins
- Existing scanning options used to filter scan lines are now offered for third-party plug-ins using the macro script command language.
. The following commands have been added to the macro script command language. They provide access to options used to filter scan lines and can be used with any scanning plug-in:
DIGITIZE LINE_SCAN SCAN_LINE_FILTER [GET]
DIGITIZE LINE_SCAN SCAN_LINE_FILTER STANDARD_DEVIATION [GET]
DIGITIZE LINE_SCAN SCAN_LINE_FILTER MAX_POINT_TO_POINT_DIST [GET]
. For PolyWorks plug-ins, these new commands correspond to existing options that are offered on the Filtering page of the Line Scan Options dialog box.
. For third-party plug-ins, take note of the following:
..The filtering of scan lines is now activated by default. This results in a reduced number of data points as well as an improved performance
..Options used to filter scan lines are now included in scanning profiles.These options can be modified using the macro script command language.
- The latest SDK has been integrated into the API Laser Tracker plug-in.
- The latest SDK has been integrated into the API Omnitrac 2 Laser Tracker plug-in.
- When using the Faro Laser Tracker plug-in, the new Tool tab offers the Probe Management button, which provides direct access to the Probe Management dialog box. This native Faro dialog box is used, among other things, to specify the current tip and calibrate the probe and its tips.
- An issue with the update of the probe tip diameter when using the Faro Arm plug-in has been fixed.
CMM plug-ins
- The ZEISS EagleEye navigator scanning device is now supported by the I++ CMM plug-in.
. I++ CMM Scanner is now offered in the list of scanning devices.
. CNC Scan is the only supported scanning method.
The C angle can be configured in the Probing Device Properties dialog box if the following conditions are met:
The Zeiss head check box is selected.
The Inferred calibration mode is specified.
. When picking tool orientations in the 3D scene, the C angle is always set to 0.0°. The C angle can be changed using the Change Tool Orientation dialog box once the A and B angles are picked.
. The clipping plane can only be defined by probing or from an existing plane.
- Fixed issues:
. Issues with PHS1 probe heads have been fixed.
. Issues that could result in collisions during calibration operations have been fixed.
. A problem that prevented users from selecting scan paths in the Scan dialog box has been fixed.
. A problem with the Zeiss CMM-OS plug-in, which resulted in the Digital Readout coordinates being displayed in the wrong coordinate system, has been fixed
